Tola Awotunde

Omotola Awotunde, known as Tola, is a healthcare programme support professional, mentor and joint convener of Generation Next. She brings together experience in NHS programme delivery, Christian service and mentoring young adults, contributing a perspective that connects personal growth with the practical responsibilities of work, relationships and everyday life.

A graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Tola has worked in healthcare programme environments supporting digital and organisational change. Her NHS programme experience includes data platform initiatives and patient administration system implementation, alongside coordinating programme activity and supporting delivery. This work provides a practical foundation for understanding how people, processes and technology come together to achieve meaningful change.

Alongside her professional work, Tola has supported and mentored young adults with her husband, Dapo, within their local church. Their shared involvement has included encouraging young people in Christian faith, relationships and personal responsibility. This experience informs her contribution to Generation Next’s emphasis on sustained guidance, thoughtful decision-making and growth across different areas of life.

As joint convener, Tola helps shape an initiative rooted in Christian faith and concerned with the whole person. Generation Next brings personal identity, values and relationships into conversation with career development, godly character and responsible leadership. Her professional and mentoring experience adds a practical dimension to that vision, helping connect the programme’s aspirations with the challenges students and graduates face as they move into adult life.

Tola’s contribution reflects the initiative’s belief that meaningful development involves both achievement and character. Through Generation Next, she works alongside Dapo to connect young people with mentors who can help them recognise their potential, make informed choices and build lives that contribute positively to others.

Tola and Dapo have two children. Their shared experience of marriage, parenting, professional work and church service forms part of the foundation they bring to Generation Next.
