Who we are

A God-given initiative to raise a new generation of nation builders for Nigeria

Generation Next exists to attract, equip and release visionary young minds who are passionate about rebuilding Nigeria and shaping a better future for generations to come.

The need

Change starts with people, not policy alone

Nigeria has endured decades of poor leadership across political, corporate and social spheres. The consequences are visible in weakened institutions, economic hardship, eroded values and a declining quality of life for many citizens.

We believe true national transformation begins with the transformation of individuals, especially young people with vision, character and purpose. Generation Next is not simply an annual conference: the public event introduces the vision, and the core offer is a structured 12-month development journey combining monthly learning, practical assignments, selected reading, webinars and direct engagement with experienced volunteer mentors.

Our vision

To develop well-rounded individuals who will positively influence their families, communities, institutions and the nation at large.

Our mission

To identify, enable and empower young people with the knowledge, character and networks to become change agents in their spheres of influence.

Our purpose

To attract, equip and release visionary young minds who are passionate about rebuilding Nigeria and shaping a better future for generations to come.

How we work

Four ways we raise nation builders

Conferences and forums

Summits and forums that attract and identify visionary young minds, and provide inspiration, teaching, networking and exposure.

Mentorship programme

Structured mentorship for selected participants, with long-term guidance, accountability and development tailored to each person.

Mentors and facilitators

Seasoned pastors, business leaders and professionals who volunteer their time, experience and resources to shape lives and guide mentees through growth.

Multiplication and legacy

Preparing participants to become future mentors, so leadership and values multiply across communities and sectors.

Leadership

Meet the Conveners

Dapo and Omotola (Tola) Awotunde are the conveners of Generation Next. Their shared purpose is to help students and recent graduates develop character, gain clarity about purpose, and make thoughtful life and career decisions.

Rooted in Christian faith, their vision brings together mentoring, professional development and personal growth. Together, they have supported and mentored young adults in their local church, encouraging them in faith, relationships and responsibility. This experience shapes their approach to Generation Next and their belief in the value of sustained guidance.

As a married couple with two children, Dapo and Tola bring their experience of family life, church service and professional work to the initiative. Through Generation Next, they seek to connect young people with experienced mentors who help them develop their potential, build fulfilling lives and contribute positively to their communities.

Accountability

Care, conduct and accountability

We work with young adults, so clear boundaries matter. Mentors take part in orientation, agree session arrangements in advance, keep professional boundaries and maintain confidentiality.
